In my many years of playing guitar I have searched for tone. Having gone through many amplifiers in my life time it has always been the search for not only the sound of the amp but the response and feel of the amp.
I started playing guitar when I was 9 and I soon found out that among many guitar amps, Marshall amplifiers were the tools of choice for many of my favorite guitar players. I soon had to get one only to find out it didn’t quite sound like my favorite guitar players! I remember trying my first Marshall and saying out loud “it feels like it’s broken!”
I have always been a tinkerer which started with swapping pickups, painting guitars, re-fretting them, shaving necks so they felt right as well as making adjustments to them so they played how I wanted them to play. Some years ago I decided I would build an amplifier. My goal, to build a replica of a 1968 Marshall Plexi Super Lead.
What started out just to build an amp lead me on journey of learning the whole amplifier circuit and how each component functions. I spent hours upon hours tweaking the circuit not only to get the sound I was after but the response and feel as well.
Being excited about tone as a guitar player, I am just as excited to deliver it to other guitar players. I believe my amps will not only give the player the sheer joy of sound but also of feel and response of a great amp. I have always experienced that if it felt good in my hands it allowed me to express freely and not have to fight the sound.
My custom amps are based on the Marshall circuit and I use top of the line parts that have been thoroughly tested for both tone and feel.
I welcome all questions and comments and look forward to working with you on achieving your tone.
Sincerely,
